Martin Baker, CFP®, CEPA®
Financial Advisor, Director of Financial Planning
“Nothing gives me greater professional satisfaction than when clients tell me that my approach to financial planning provides them with a great deal of comfort and relief when they're thinking about their financial future.”
Martin joined Canby Financial Advisors in April 2025 as Financial Advisor and Director of Financial Planning.
“My mission is to partner with individuals, families and small-business owners to help them realize their vision for retirement, their family mission and their legacies through highly personalized financial planning,” he says.
Martin will also help business owners develop effective succession planning and exit strategies that enable them to successfully transition to their next stage of life.
At the core of his approach is a commitment to helping clients quantify their financial goals and aspirations and providing them with the relevant information and guidance they need to make the educated decisions that can simplify their complex financial lives.
In addition to working with new and existing clients, Martin serves as Director of Financial Planning, where his extensive experience helps ensure that everyone at Canby Financial continues to remain in the forefront of ever-evolving financial planning techniques and technologies.
To this role, Martin brings more than 20 years of experience as a Financial Advisor at UBS, a Private Wealth Relationship Manager at Fidelity Investments, and, more recently, as Manager of Advanced Planning.
Martin has a BS in finance from Bentley University. He has earned designations as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) professional and as a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®).
He lives in Chelmsford with his wife, Elizabeth, and their two children, Bryce and Ryann.
When he’s not working, Martin can be found playing golf or cheering his kids from the sidelines at their basketball, track and volleyball games. He has a particular love for hockey, which he started playing at a very young age and eventually landed him a spot on the roster of Bentley University’s hockey team as a forward.
“One of the side benefits of playing hockey was that it enabled me to travel extensively throughout the U.S. and to Canada and Europe, instilling a love of traveling with my own family,” he says. His favorite vacation destination is Maui.
