“Working at a small independent firm allows me to spend more time with my clients delivering a level of advice and service that larger firms can struggle to provide.”
Mike joined Canby in 2008 and currently serves as a financial advisor, where his role is to strengthen relationships with some of the firm’s largest and long-tenured clients. Mike enjoys the financial planning aspects of his job the most since they enable him to gain a deep understanding of each client’s unique financial situation, goals, and family dynamics. His clients value his patience, responsiveness, and sense of humor and many of them have become friends over the years.
Before Canby, Mike worked at ING Financial Advisors helping participants and plan sponsors manage their retirement needs. He has a BA in accounting from St. Anselm College, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) certification.
Mike lives in Reading, Massachusetts, with his wife, Laura, and his three young children, to whom he devotes the majority of his free time and energy.
He is a supporter of the Friendship Home in Norwell, Massachusetts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Mike’s sister, who has Down syndrome, is an active participant in their vocational and social programs.
